During the last year the education community had several activities. The first was of course our session at the 45 conference of the Israeli Sociology Society Association. The subject of the session was aspects of measurement and evaluation in the education system in Israel. It included four lectures and a fascinating discussion about the evaluation culture and its recent changes. In addition, the education community had contributed to and participated in the seminar "current contributions on educational stratification" in celebration of Prof. Hanna Ayalon’s retirement at Tel Aviv University. Finally, the education community is now arranging a first conference for comparative education that will be held at Tel Aviv University on 30/11 and will include lectures of eight graduate students from five universities.
